[ he's actually there in like a minute and a half. he totally dropped what he was working on and ran. his head pops in, looking like a living smiley face. ]
[She pauses for a moment, tilting her head slightly as she tries to find a good way to say this.]
I mean... You can always see exactly what he was going for, I think more than any other composer. It's like reading a poem. The forms, the melodies and the harmonies he used, it all works together to give you a really clear image of what mood or scene he was trying to reach. It's really hard to do that, have it actually sound good, and make it seem like it was easy to compose, but he basically nails all three. All of his music sounds effortless, and it kind of takes a genius to get that down.
[ there is so much fondness in his smile as he listens to her talk. it's so nice to listen to her talk about something she's really passionate about. ]
All I've ever heard about him was that he was batshit, but that adds up, geniuses are usually misunderstood.
Sure. It's been a while, so I might be a little rusty, but...
[She scans through the music one more time before she looks down at the keys and starts to play. Rusty or not, it's fairly clear that she's extremely talented. Years of practice have paid off.]
[ so much smiling as he listens. he takes a picture - if she doesn't like it he'll delete it after but she just looks so happy in the moment...if he ever loses her that's the face he wants to remember. when she stops he bursts into enthusiastic applause. ]
[In all likelihood, she doesn't even notice as he takes a picture; when she plays, she tends to lose sense of everything else, like the rest of the world falls away for a few minutes. As the last notes trail off, she gives a laugh to his applause, glancing down at the ground.]
It wasn't that good, you're going to give me a swelled head.
text;
I take it you like it. you're super welcome! :D
that's not in place of your birthday present, still working on that, btw
[ he knows how worried she is about that, yep. ]

Oh, he was. Like, completely off his rocker. But you'd never guess just listening to his work.
